IN THE NAME OF ALLAH,THE BENEFICENT,THE MERCIFUL
What is the secret of the universe? why the universe exists? these are multi multi billion dollars questions to which science has no no clue.Science is still busy in finding the basic stuff of the material world,it has not even stepped out of the material realm.The secret of the universe comes in the realm of metaphysics-beyond physics.The oldest religion, to my knowledge, to talk about the secret of the universe and the reason of creation is 'Hinduism'.The famous Mitrunjaya Mantra of the Vedas is as follows
" In the name of OM, I focus my attention on Trinity (triambakam) which is inside every creation and it's smell gives strength to them.Now I am free like a plucked cucumber is free from it's creeper.I have got freedom death."
The above hymn of the Vedas is telling us that the secret of the universe is three beings whose knowledge will make you free from everything and make you ever living.The OM is God.
According to Islam the secret of the universe is as follow,
" I (God) was a hidden treasure, I loved the idea of getting known, hence I created a creation so that I am known."
According to the Sunnis God created the whole universe so that He is known, but according to the Shia philosophy and compendium of hadith,the word 'creation in the above hadith refers to Prophet Muhammad,Ali and Fatima, the trinity.God first created the light of Muhammad and then He split it into two; one was Muhammad and the other was Ali.Then God made the light of Fatima from the light of Muhammad and united the light of Ali and Fatima which is the first pair created.This pair gave rise to the pair of matter and anti-matter which further gave birth to pairs of universes,galaxies,solar systems,plants,animals and the human beings.All the pairs in the cosmos are because of the pair of the light of Ali and Fatima.It is the philosophy of reduction ism.All pairs go back to Ali and Fatima.Muhammad is the neutral principle.The basic stuff of matter is proton,electron and the neutron.The proton represents Ali, the electron represents Fatima and the neutron represents Prophet Muhammad.The first three knew God and realized God and praised God.God was known.His desire was fulfilled, now He wanted to introduce His first know-ers to others, so he created the others, the universe.This is what is mentioned in the famous Hadeeth e Kisa,
"Then God said, " O' My angels and those who stay in the skies,I created not elevated sky,the out-stretched earth,the shining moon,the burning sun,the rotating universe,the flowing oceans and the moving ships, but out of love for these five souls who are under the blancket (Muhammad, Ali,Fatima ,Hassan and Hussain."
There is an extension of three into five in Islamic philosophy.These five basic principle are further extended into averall fourteen.Prophet Muhammad and Fatima on one side and the twelve noble ones the first of whom is Ali and the last is the awaited saviour- Imam Mehdi who is present but in occultation.The Holy Quran talks about the twelve noble Imam of the universe in Surah tauba -verse-36 as follows,At-Taubah 9:36
إِنَّ عِدَّةَ ٱلشُّهُورِ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱثْنَا عَشَرَ شَهْرًا فِى كِتَٰبِ ٱللَّهِ يَوْمَ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ مِنْهَآ أَرْبَعَةٌ حُرُمٌۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلدِّينُ ٱلْقَيِّمُۚ فَلَا تَظْلِمُوا۟ فِيهِنَّ أَنفُسَكُمْۚ وَقَٰتِلُوا۟ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ كَآفَّةً كَمَا يُقَٰتِلُونَكُمْ كَآفَّةًۚ وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
Indeed, the number of respected souls (shahoor from the word Ashraf which means respected) with Allah is twelve respected souls in the register of Allah [from] the day He created the heavens and the earth; of these, four are sacred. That is the correct religion, so do not wrong yourselves in them. And fight against the disbelievers collectively as they fight against you collectively. And know that Allah is with the righteous."
Many scholars have translated the word 'Shahoor' as months which makes the whole verses meaningless because the verses further says that these twelve is the real religion.If you translate 'shahoor' as months then the verses is saying that believing that months are twelve is the true religion which makes mockery of the whole verses.
The light of Hassan and Hussain was created from the light of Ali and Fatima,but the ultimate cause of the light of Hassan and Hussain is Prophet Muhammad.Hence, Hassan and Hussain were called as the sons of Prophet Muhammad.
Well,the summary is , all pairs in the cosmos are because of the light pair of Ali and Fatima.All the neutral things emanated from the light of Prophet Muhammad.This is the fundamental philosophy which is found in almost all the famous religions of the world with some change in names.
